Nixie-style RGB glow clock kit, 6 digits

This nixie tube clock look-alike shows hours, minutes and seconds on six glowing RGB digits, set in a walnut-finished wood and metal case. It uses a nixie-style glow display rather than real nixie tubes, and it arrives as a kit you assemble yourself.

Why it earns desk space

• Six digits show hours, minutes and seconds together, so 183324 reads as 18:33:24.
• It runs from any USB port with the supplied cable, drawing about 260 mA.
• A button cell on the board keeps time through power cuts.
• Buttons on the bottom set color, mode and time, and time and color can also sync from computer software.
• It measures 33 × 8 × 9 cm (13 × 3.1 × 3.5 in) and weighs 700 g (1.5 lb), so it fits on a shelf or desk.
